For over twenty years, I've been helping clients transform their lives. I draw from a rich variety of in-depth trainings to use what's relevant and effective with each particular individual or couple. My style is engaged, interactive, and responsive. I'm moved by witnessing the process of growth, healing, expanded aliveness, and connection with oneself and others that occurs over the course of therapy. I believe that a sensitive and respectful therapeutic relationship creates safety that can be deeply healing.
In my twenties, I was a radio producer of an international women's show of world music and culture. It was during my weekly interviews with women from all over the world that I discovered my great curiosity and love for personal histories. My desire to learn skills that would facilitate a deeper exploration of peoples' psyches led me to graduate school. My background in the arts as a radio producer and writer, and my own immersion in the creative process, guides me in assisting clients to move through creative blocks to fuller creative expression.
People and relationships are complex and multifaceted. In therapy, I believe it's important to explore both one's inner world, personal and family history, and where relevant, the impact of cultural issues such as ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, cross-cultural relationships, dislocation, and immigration. In our work together, I focus on and affirm the strengths you've developed while supporting growth and change in areas that are most meaningful to you.
